"I was diagnosed on January 25th 2012. And took it all with humor and as a blessing. And it truly turned into a blessing for us. Chemo, radiation and surgery. Took it all in stride. However, it did take a toll mentally. And Think Goodness (Origami Owl) gave me back that part that was missing. "Almost 12 years ago I heard the words no one wants to hear...you have breast cancer. After 2 years of treatment including surgery, chemo, radiation and Herceptin, it was time to get on with life. During that time, I was blessed with so many incredible opportunities including being a spokesperson for the hospital, a calendar girl, throwing out the first pitch at an MLB game, My favourite photo though is this one that a very good friend captured It's not special because it's of me. It's special as it captures LIFE. It captures a smile when many wonder how. It captures a moment in time when even though poison chemicals are flowing through my body to kill any remaining cancer cells, & I'm able to smile because I have life. This picture always reminds me that anything is possible."
